LliureX at the MolinuX 3.2 Release

The technical coordinator of LliureX distribution, Luis García Gisbert, has taken part in the Conference of MolinuX 3.2 Release, code name “Hidalgo”, which was held at the School of Computer Sciences of Ciudad Real, Castilla la Mancha, on 25 January.

Hidalgo is a new version based on the open source software distribution developed by the regional government of Castilla la Mancha in Spain. The Conference first purpose was to present the main features of the new version based on Ubuntu “Gutsy Gibbon” 7.10 Different speeches and workshops were hosted to create awareness concerning Molinux deployment in Castilla la Mancha and share experiences from other Spanish regions.

Luis García, along with a representative of Guadalinex, gave a speech on “Other regional distributions – LliureX and Guadalinex- Global Project Exhibition”. He focused on the LliureX project and its main courses of action, going through the different LliureX releases from its beginning to the current version “Hiro” 7.11. Great emphasis was given to the distinctive features of the LliureX distribution such as bilingualism, aproach to education and its implementation in the classroom.

The attendance of those involved in the technical development of the regional distributions gave the opportunity to discuss technical items common to all them and strengthen ties for collaboration.
